DIRECTIONS

BY ROAD

The lodges are situated on Burgie Mains Farm. The post code for Sat Nav is IV36 2QU. If using What3Words please use outlast.thinnest.fidgeted.

Burgie Mains Farm situated 3 miles east of the town of Forres along the A96.  The Drive for Burgie Mains Farm is on the south side of the A96 road and is signposted.

FROM THE SOUTH

Option 1 – a scenic drive (30 minutes quicker)

  • Drive north from Perth on the A9 passing Aviemore (80 miles) on the right.
  • About 1 mile north of Aviemore turn right onto the A95 signed to Grantown on Spey
  • At the first roundabout at Grantown turn left onto B902 and proceed through the town centre
  • At the far end of the town centre join the A939 signed to Forres.
  • In Forres proceed across all the roundabouts until you meet the A96. Turn right onto the A96 and proceed for 3 miles out of the town until the Burgie House drive is on the righthand side.

Option 2 – certainly in inclement weather (30 minutes longer but all roads will be gritted & salted)

  • Drive north from Perth on the A9 until Inverness (123 miles)
  • Take the slip road off the A9 onto the A96 and at the roundabout head east along the A96.
  • Passing through Nairn and around Forres proceed for 3 miles out of the town until the Burgie House drive is on the right-hand side.

FROM THE EAST

  • Proceed through Elgin on the A96
  • Pass through the small village of Alves
  • The Burgie drive is about 4 miles west of Alves on the left-hand side.

ONCE YOU HAVE TURNED OFF THE A96 PROCEED UP THE DRIVE

*Please note that we are a working estate. Due to vechicles that use our private roads they can get torn up on a regular basis. We put a lot of work into maintaining them as well as we can. However we recommend driving with caution.*

  • After about ½ mile you will see some Lodge Gates in front of you which is the entrance to Burgie House, please proceed around to the left before the gates and continue up the track to the farm.
  • After 0.3 miles you will come to a right had turn in front of two cottages.
  • Contune along the drive, passing the castle ruin and through the farm leaving a wall on your right-hand side.
  • Pass around a 90 degree bend to the left then again after 100m another to the right (do not proceed up the hill directly in front of you) and after 100m you will reach Blackhillock Farm.
  • Go through Blackhillock Farm (this is a working farm) and as you go around the right hand corner to go down the hill turn Left onto a new track into the woods – there is a Woodland Lodge sign.
  • Proceed up this track until you reach the lodges at the top.
